So not super bad – at least you have a goal-post to look at while you’re farming, as opposed to a certain other, more RNGesus happy F2P game that uses largely the same system

And you can indeed buy all classes on Steam, but really, you won’t be gaining much. The Atlas has been removed entirely, from what I can tell, and temples and the capital are reduced to overlays for the most part.

Skyforge’s class system is definitely something different, and new players starting the game will be met with three classes to choose from. This can be a bit of a shock, considering the number of classes shown on the official site.

There are two tiers to the Ascension Atlas, one of which you unlock after progressing far enough into your first class.. This is either called “Path of the Cryomancer,” “Path of the Lightbinder,” or “Path of the Paladin” depending on your current starting class.

If you thought customization wasn’t actually all that vast based on the first Atlas tier, you’re in for a treat upon unlocking the higher tier.. The stats and skills obtained here affect your character no matter the class you’re using, meaning these are permanent improvements

Wish I would have seen this sooner as you don’t find this out anywhere in game until you spend hours to unlock the upper atlas. Nice game like it a lot in fact and has tons of potential but the class unlock system is what I don’t like about this game

In Skyforge you can be many different classes all within the same person, much like games like Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and FPS type games like FireFall, except it’s kind of a bit different. Jumping straight into the explanation, you can change your class between any of your unlocked classes on the drop of a dime anytime you’re out of combat

There are some interesting catches, but we’ll discuss those in detail here.. Class changing is the de facto trait of Skyforge and is one of its most important mechanics

When you first start the game, assuming you haven’t purchased any form of advanced unlock (through a founder’s pack or other means), you’ll only have access to one tank, one DPS, and one healing class. As of launch, they are the Paladin, Cryomancer, and Lightbinder

You probably came here looking for basic knowledge about Skyforge, and hopefully I can impart some knowledge in your direction to guide you towards playing Skyforge and enjoying it. Approach Skyforge with an open mind because it’s definitely fun to play, but it has some gameplay elements that can seem a little convoluted.. This won’t be the be-all end-all of guides, but I’ll give you the tips that I do have from my limited knowledge of this game, but also from my vast knowledge of MMO’s in general

Skyforge uses WASD to move, Left and Right Click for different attacks, Z,X,C, 1-4, R for your ultimate, H for quickslot items, J for mounts, and E for executes. Spacebar is also used to interact/jump/quick combo an ability
