Creating your own emblem is a great way to show off your creative skills and show those stock-emblem clowns what’s really up. And in the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Treyarch decided to revamp the emblem editor, so now you can make more colorful and elaborate emblems.

Now, we have a whopping 32 layers to play with in Black Ops 2, which makes it possible to create some very legit and intricate designs.. Also new is the RGB scale, which gives more options for color scheming, along with the option for a transparent background, which will allow your emblem to be placed directly onto your playercard for a smooth, more uniform look.

Thankfully, there’s some hardcore emblem makers on YouTube to help give us some ideas. Here are just a few of the most popular emblems in BO2.

However, one of the more subtle things you can do, along with customizing your character, is making your own emblems to use with the returning Black Ops Emblem Editor

The Emblem Editor is easy to find, but it’s a little hidden in the menus of Black Ops 4 so we can understand why anyone would overlook it. Either go to Options in the main menu or click the Option button on your PS4 controller (or the Xbox/PC equivalent), then select the “Identity” tab

There are an incredible amount of options available in the Emblem Editor, so it can all be certainly overwhelming. Here’s some tips to get you started, plus what each of the various tabs offer in the editor.

Go in the players player channel and go to the emblem you want. You’re going to click X B (go up once to the screenshot) X X (go down) X – Xbox 360 Controls
