Recharging [1]

Recharging is the process of adding more charges to depleted enchanted weapons. – Paying for the recharge at one of the Mages Guilds located throughout Tamriel at a cost of 1 per recharge point (see Rechargers section).
This destroys the Soul Gem and transfers the energy to the weapon. Note: Azura’s Star is a soul gem that you can use to recharge items or enchant items and can never be destroyed.
These glowing crystals will fully recharge all magic items in your inventory. Take care when using them as they are very rare, or only use them when you have a large capacity item that you do not have the necessary Soul Gems to recharge it.

Restoration Loop weapons show no charge and cannot be recharged? [2]

Has anyone else had the problem of using the Restoration-Alchemy-Enchanting Loop to create super enchanted weapons, and then later the weapons show no charge and cannot be recharged? I used the Restoration-Alchemy-Enchanting Loop to make a Potion of Fortify Enchanting that made enchantments 33524% stronger. I found that this is the lowest that you can go that will provide a one-hit kill without also super improving the weapon as well, regardless of weapon type or material and it is the highest that you can go before it makes the value end up as a ridiculously high negative value, i.e
If you reload a previous save well before your weapon became empty, all of them will be empty. I found that to “fix” this all you have to do is use the potion and enchant another weapon
Once the weapon is made you do not need to save it or anything, just look to see that all of your super enchanted weapons will be charged. Now you can reload any previous saves, including any you made after your weapon ran out of charges and they will now all be charged

Dive into anything [5]

How do weapon enchantments work in this game? I fucking hated that you had to recharge weapons all the time in Oblivion, is it the same for Skyrim?. It is annoying, enchantments drain very fast, there is a quest that provides a quick and easy way to refill enchantments though.
I’d like someone playing the game to confirm if that’s actually what it does, though.. I can confirm that when you kill an enemy this perk recharges 5% of your overall charges on the weapon, I can essentially just slay a crap-load of enemies and if it gets to low use a single soul gem to restore them
Just to be clear for people still checking, the soul siphon perk is essentially a constant soul trap on whatever weapon you use for the killing blow without needing a soul gem to charge the weapon. The best way as I see it to use this is if you a strong weapon you like to use in tough fights, only use it for common enemy kill strikes, that way it gains charge and can be saved up for constant use in tough fights.

Recharging with a soul gem in inventory is such a dumb idea.. Running 6.40 and have 1.1.1 + 1.1.3 (overwriting) installed
Any advice to troubleshoot or reset the scripts, etc.? Any possible conflicts for this as well?. Edit: Full uninstall in Vortex, then saving the game, cleaning the save with resaver, and then reinstalling seemed to do the trick.

What unique weapons don’t need soul gems to recharge them ? [13]

I’m playing a Bosmer and plan on sticking to green pact and also not using soul gems, due to them not liking necromancy or the use of soul gems because of it.. The weapons that I can think of that come to mind are – Vladr’s dagger, Mehrunes Razor, Skull of Corruption, Ebony Blade, Dawnguard rune axe and Hammer, Trollsbane, Hoksbane, Wuuthrad and Windshear.
Keening doesn’t need to be recharged if you have around 25% Fortify Destruction enchantments. It’s kind of unique in that it only has one charge, and cannot be recharged
For most weapons, you’d need 100% Fortify Destruction, but because of Keening’s unique 1 cost / 0 charge state, you only need enough to get the game to round down the 1 cost to 0. I’m not sure exactly where that cutoff is, but I know it’s around 25%, if not lower
